Review of The Choice of Magic (Art of the Adept Book 1)

I just finished reading The Choice of Magic (Art of the Adept Book 1) by Michael G. Manning.๐Ÿ“š

Another book proposed by the algorithm of Amazon, and as I was for the lookout for something lighter to read, I’ve decided to give it a try. The book did not disappoint. It is the classic hero story but with some twists.

I especially liked how magic is working in this world and how he is learning it. And that it does not happen in half am month but takes years upon years. In this, it reminded me strongly of The Magic Engineer (Saga of Recluce) by L. E. Modesitt Jr. โ€“ by the way an excellent series which I recommend to read, it takes a bit to get into the world but it has excellent world-building in there. So now, back to the actual book at hand.

Unfortunately, the author has the feeling that the reader continually forgets what he has read, so there is some repetition of facts in this book, but it is still bearable. And the story is entertaining, so if you need something lights to read, go for it.
