I just finished reading LIFEL1K3 (Lifelike - Book 1) by Jay Kristoff.📚

Another book proposed by the Amazon algorithm, Eve, is a teenager living in the leftover area of California after a big war. She does not have much, but as long as she and her team stick together, she can survive and earn enough money in the bot fighting arena to buy the medicine for her grandfather. But one day she finds a very special android and everything changes.

I like the book, and the ending was quite surprising, although you need to be able to ignore the hipster-speak the characters are mostly using. I can understand why it was done this way, but the dialog does not sound natural and convincing. It has a bit the touch of an older adult trying to look cool and use the language of the youth – an experiment which can only fail ;-)
