Review of the Girl Without Magic (The Chronicles of Maggie Trent Book 1)

I recently finished reading The Girl Without Magic (The Chronicles of Maggie Trent Book 1) by Megan O’Russell.📚

There was a green flash, and Maggie Trent vanishes from the battle she was fighting. First, she assumes she’s dead but soon realizes she is now in the Siren' Realm where every wish is fulfilled as long as you can pay the price.

The book plays in the same universe as “The Tethering” series from the corresponding author. This book is a bit simpler in the story and can also be read without knowing the other books.

I quite enjoyed the book and also found some inspirational quotes while reading it:

The sacrifices we make to live in the beautiful Siren’s Realm are much like the sacrifices made to live anywhere. It is only much easier to see the rules here, and seeing makes accepting so much more difficult.

I have discovered in my many travels that whenever one suspects the presence of a predator, it is best to assume the threat is a person until you discover otherwise. People are the most dangerous thing to have creep up on you unexpectedly.

The secret isn’t to be afraid of strangers. It’s to love the strangeness. Love the challenges it brings. Once you do that, you’ll see the dangers that are real.
