Review 100 Days of Sunlight

I just finished reading 100 Days of Sunlight by Abbie Emmons.📚

Tessa is 16 years old when she is involved in a car accident leading to a loss of sight. Without sight, she cannot follow her blogging hobby anymore and, on top of it, needs to cope with the new situation. Her grandparents introduce her to Weston, a teenage boy. He should help her with writing. In the first moment, everything sounds typical about this boy. But the more time Tessa spends with him, the more she feels that there is something more to him.

Opinion

Please note that from here on out, the text can contain spoilers of the book.

I loved the two main characters of this book. And also the actual plot – such a good idea. At first glance, this could be your typical love story. But the book is so much more.

The story is told from the POV of Tessa and Weston, mostly in an alternating pattern. In the beginning, we are introduced to Tessa and her family. And later on, we also get some chapters containing the backstory of Weston and how he lost his legs.

I recommend this book to everybody; it is a short standalone work. And it gets you thinking. What would you do when you lose sight, and being it only for 100 days. It is undoubtedly a significant change. And on top of that, you get a lovely and well-written love story.
