Review of the Academy of Stolen Magic
I just finished reading The Academy of Stolen Magic: YA Paranormal Academy Book Two (Blakemore Paranormal Academy 2) by Sullivan Gray.π The second book connects directly to the end of the first book, and actually, these should have been one book. This book mostly covers the relationship drama of the main character. And we also get to know a bit more about the main story. But I got the strong feeling that the main adventure is not essential, and the love relationship is the central part of the story π’.Review of Supernatural Reform School
I just finished reading Supernatural Reform School (Blakemore Paranormal Academy Book 1) by Sullivan Gray.π I got this book recommended by Amazon, and the brief sounded interesting. It reads quite easy and is not too long and expensive, and I like the setting, so I started reading it. I did not like the main character in the first few chapters; she is not real and has some strange ideas. But this gets a lot better after the introduction to the book.Puh, just had our appointment to return the keys for our old flat. Went quite well β better than I would have expected. I’m so relieved right now.

Review of Under a Tell-Tale Sky
I just finished reading Under a Tell-Tale Sky: After the EMP (Disruption Trilogy Book 1) by R.E. McDermott.πThis book was another Amazon proposal, and I quite liked it. The story starts just before a significant solar eruption hits the earth destroying the complete power grid on most of the planet. It then shows the actions of multiple groups in North America how they try to survive in this post-apocalyptic world.I just started reading Supernatural Reform School (Blakemore Paranormal Academy Book 1) by Sullivan Gray.π

Sunrise from our new kitchen window. I love it.

Removed the wall to my woodshop today. Left side is with the wall still standing. On the right side the wall is gone.
Review of The Circle
I finished reading The Circle by Dave Eggers.π The book starts quite harmlessly, but somehow you suspect that something is off. It does not take long until you begin to see the cracks in the shiny circle world, which each additional monitor installed at the main protagonist desk. Sometimes I felt exhausted thinking about all the thing which are expected of the circle workers in the after hours. They are never mandatory, but if you miss them, you will get a concerned talk.
Staircase into the underground. I am visiting a bunker in our neighborhood.

Empty flat!

One day left. Picture of a moving car drawn by my daughter.
This is quite an interesting article and an eye-opener regarding the use of dependency injection and mocking in unit tests. I used to solve my testing issues with mocks and stumbled over quite some of the problems when doing so. This article helped me better understand the solutions to my questions.

The move is coming nearer with every day.

It’s time to dismantle our wardrobe. Not yet sure what I will be able to reuse in the new room.

First, halve of my office furniture. The other half did not fit into the car.

Wedding flowers - at the wedding of my sister.

So many colors to choose from β I can’t decide which I should paint on my walls.
We have a new flat
On the 1st of September, we got the key to our new flat. Now starts the exciting part of this project, fining all the new furniture we need to make this place our own and installing the new cables to get a decent network running. Luckily we don’t need to renovate a lot, apart from a new coat of paint we are okay. And perhaps some more cleaning after the painter is done.I just started reading The Circle by Dave Eggers.π
It is a strange feeling when you start untangling all of your network infrastructure in your old flat.
It has grown over multiple years and get torn down in an instant.
@V_ A little this... a little that. A spot of this and a dash of that other. Then a drop of the other one next and a bit of that one with a splash. And if you don't happen to like a certain color then paint over it... while it's still wet even. If you don't like it then wait until it drys!

@jNash my daughter would love that, her first wish was a rainbow colored wall.

@V_ Are you staying long or moving in a couple years? If you could move, stay neutral (off while, clay, light tan). If you're there for life go all out! Just know dark purple, dark green, dark blue are hard to paint over, from experience.

@MrGibber, I plan on staying longer. Moving is way too much work to do it more than every five to six years. And thanks for the input regarding the dark colors. I did not know this until now.

@V_ Yep, even thee coats of a lighter color didn't do the trick. I had to prime all the dark areas (a bit complicated, but think Dad can you paint a city scape, ok) with Kilz product. Expensive and doesn't go that far, but it worked. After a full coat of Kilz, I was able to return the walls to an off while.
