A beneficial article regarding how to learn new stuff.
Being a senior developer is less about knowing absolutely everything and more about quickly being able to recognize when you don’t know something and learn it.
When I’m talking to someone who knows more about the concept than me, I find it helps to start by asking really simple questions, where the answer is just “yes” or “no”.
I am standing next to the road, waiting for the bus to come. I smell the fragrance of spring for the first time this season.
The smell of flowers blooming after a light rain is filling the air.
I just started reading Three Simple Steps to Wizarding Domination (The Tale of Bryant Adams Book 3) by Megan O’Russell.📚
This episode was the best so far of the second season. I like its pacing and also the message shown.

Also, the different reactions of the three children to the revelations were executed flawlessly.
One of the webcomics I’m reading is now starting with it’s last chapter. It feels very strange that the story will soon be over.
Review of The Vexed Generation (Magic 2.0 Book 6) by Scott Meyer
I finished reading The Vexed Generation (Magic 2.0 Book 6) by Scott Meyer.📚
The action of this book takes place around ten years after the main storyline. Mattie and Brewster are the teenaged children of Martin and Gwen Banks. They know nothing about the magical past of their parents and are pretty surprised when they find their parents frozen like a statue in the living room.
That’s why many authors will write three books in a series before they make any income at all. You write three books, advertise book one, and by the time people have bought multiple books in the series you’re earning some profit.

It nice to once again finish work at a reasonable time.
The project from yesterday. Unfortunately, it was too heavy and did not float.
My daughter managed to drag me into the shop for the first time this year, I think. Not sure why I was not down there for so long, I suspect I’m feeling guilty about all my unfinished projects. But it was good to create something with here.

I wonder if it is possible to directly generate an app from a set of user stories without manual coding.
Review of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Harry Potter 5)
I just finished listening Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Harry Potter 5) by J.K. Rowling.📚
Got some unexpected free time this week. But now I don’t know what to do with it oO.
My head does not like our current weather. Sitting in the dark with headaches again :-( hat least I’m no longer feeling ill 😳

In this oddly paced "educational" video, I explain how I created a paper for SIGBOVIK 2017 that consists of only printable ASCII bytes, but is also a valid DOS executable. This involves making a C compiler that targets the printable subset of x86 (without using self-modifying code), and just barely scraping out solutions to some tricky puzzles that arise due to the constraints. The final result is functionality that is oh so very important, however!

Such a simple idea and so many applications. I’m a bit mindblown right now.

Until now, they’ve always worked for approval, abstracted from results: the question has always been, Is this the answer the teacher wants? or Did the committee like it? — not Is it true? and Did it help the customer?
It’s still too early to go to bed; I’m so tired right now.
Two days no meetings it was so nice to dive into the code, but now I’m back in the meetings world :-(

I just finished reading The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read (and Your Children Will Be Glad That You Did) by Philippa Perry.📚
I’ve rediscovered joyful music c in my music library this week, to which I haven’t listened to in ages. Right now, my mind seems to be more into music than podcasts.
I am feeling way happier today compared with the rest of the week. And also somehow relieved.

I start to feel tired. I hope I sleep better tonight.
A balancing act.

I’ve started watching Anne with an “E” on Netflix, and I quite enjoy the show. Only one episode to go in the first season, and I still would like more. I love the visuals and how the shots are combined with the music. It creates quite a longing in me which I cannot explain. And the acting of the main character is also really impressive.
Down by the river, next to ab big rock, there grows old sagebrush. His branches reach towards the sun.
First barbecue of the season.
It’s a materialistic world.

A nice flower.
@V_ Looks like a fun project! Guessing this was meant to be a propeller boat? Did you have an enclosure to keep the motors away from water?
by sp on
@sp correct! No, we did not create an enclosure for it. I just chanced it with the motors and the water. The bigger issue was that the motors were not strong enough for the cable. I then removed the cable and put the batteries directly on the boat. But then it was too heavy.
by V_ on
@V_ You need a helium balloon to neutralize the battery+motor weight :D
