January 2022
It looks like I’m back, OO. I am feeling so much better today compared to Thursday and Friday. Still in isolation, though. It seems like I’ve got the 🦠 only in the light variant. And I’m fortunate and happy about that.
Rediscovered HammerFall this morning. I’m on a trip down memory lane right now. 🎵
It happened :-( My home for the next few days.
Playing the Mindcraft board game for the first time. It was fun. 🎲
Thoughts on Cytonic: The Third Skyward Novel
I just finished reading Cytonic: The Third Skyward Novel by Brandon Sanderson.📚
I just started reading Where the Action Is: The Meetings That Make or Break Your Organization by J. Elise Keith.📚
Disconnected. The switch came loose when I changed the battery—time for the soldering iron.
Building swings in the forest.
A daily random note from my brain
To get myself more to think about my notes, I’ve setup automation to send me a random note from my digital brain every day at noon. I hope that when I get an email in my inbox with a random thought, it triggers additional ideas, which I can then write down again. As so far, I was not so good with revisiting old notes I’ve written once. The system has the following components:Why so sad? Stick figure collage.
A doodle of a cat. It came into existence without a plan.
Trying to debug why my ruby script is not running as a launchd service is a pain in the ass :-( I wish there was a way to see what’s wrong. Apart from error 1.
I ate the trunk of broccoli for the first time. That was a revelation. No more broccoli will be wasted now.
The new year has begun again for me. Back to work. No more holidays.
Nearly one year of daily piano training! I think I managed to form a habit here. And I start to see some progress as well. Sunday’s are missing as this is my free day.
Automating email sending with SwiftSMTP and launchd
I am unhappy with my email sending automation using AppleScript and the Apple Calendar App. I have been searching for a better solution for quite some time. Sending emails is a complicated problem in 2022 :-).
This image summarizes the last year. I hope it does not entirely define the new year as well. Happy new year, everybody!
@V_ Took my son to see them in concert in 2019. Great show and he loved it!

@stevebrady that is actually a good idea. Did not go to many concerts so far but it is something I should do more.
