I wrote the ending scene of my short story today. I still have four or five scenes to write. But it feels good to know towards which end I’m working. 📝

Looks like it is working with the NAS. First drive is exchanged. Now I need to wait until repairing is done. It will be a while (we are at 3.84% right now).

 

I need to replace the hard drives in my NAS, I’m a bit nervous I have never done it and it was working perfectly. It is just out of space.

 

@V_ if you’re running RAID, you should be able to replace them one at a time, right?

@V_ I did it once (because they needed more space) exactly as @kq said (the NAS was from synology with SHR raid type)

We attended the church wedding of our best friends yesterday. It was a lovely ceremony, and I would never have expected 18 years ago when I witnessed their civil marriage, that I would also witness their church-based wedding.

I love it and find it romantic that they did this. And what should my wife and I do on our next round jubilee? It will undoubtedly include food, but it could also have something more.

My takeaway from todays morning page session: ChatGTP is still better at writing dialogs then I :-D On the left is a paragraph of text I wrote and on the right how ChatGTP proposes to change it. It is eye opening. And I did not copy and past back the new version verbatim.

@V_ On the contrary, I think the “corrected” version is stodgy, formulaic and old-fashioned. Yours, though rough, has character that I would not sandpaper off.

@dwalbert, thanks a lot for your feedback! I will look out not to sandpaper off anything. In retrospect, I should have also mentioned the negative parts of the proposal. The bot completely changed the POV (first person) and the tense. The wow factor for me was splitting it up into dialogs, and it looked like something I would see in a typeset book. My general issue is that my sentences are always too long. Especially the ones for Mia (she's supposed to be eight years old).

I would love feedback on the conclusion I’ve got regarding how to interleave the B-Plot into the A-Plot structure:

Most of the B-Plot should happen in the beginning and middle part of the overall story. So the conclusion of the B-Plot can trigger the conclusion of the A-Plot. 📝

It looks like we slowly get back to normal. Looks like we were lucky so far and had only a mild variant of the big C.

 

This week does not go to plan :-( my wife is in bed with Corona. And I am now also in bed with symptoms, but so far no positive test. And the little one also is in bed with minor symptoms.

Ok, count me impressed. This short “dialog” with ChatGPT just saved me 20 minutes of googling for names, on shitty sites with a lot of advertisements. I’ve asked it for names fitting to the child name of “Mia” and also the meaning of the proposed names.
