Installed a MineCraft server for my daughter today. That was simpler than expected :-D

Now I want to code a MMOPGR again OO

I was at a presentation / networking event at my alma mater. I’m proud of myself that I was able to do this. And it was very interesting to listen to the presentation (about cyber security). And talk to other people there.

A screenshot of the iPhone SE simulator showing the main menu of the mathematics training app I coded for my daughter. The section title reads: “5. Klasse: Grosses Ein mal Eins (bis 100)” and below are the lesson options, with an owl or horse icon.

I found the energy to work on the Math app for my daughter again. Adding some bigger numbers and some new features.

It feels strange to go out of the house so early for work. But sometimes it needs to be done.

Close-up picture of two fabric cases for cables and power bricks. The one on the left is blue the other one is burgundy red. Photographed on a wooden background.

I got two cable bags for my cables and small stuff in my bag-pack. Should have bought them way earlier, makes for a much cleaner bag. The blue one contains the power brick for the work laptop and the violet one is for phone cables and power bank.

A screenshot of the “Longes Move Streak” screen from the Fitness app from Apple.

It happened: Yesterday I lost my move streak after 187 days.

Todays lesson: Do not sow a hole in your pant s while wearing them Oo

A wide shot of the blue sky with a single contrail in the middle, and the airplane at the end of it. The contrail goes from the bottom edge to around two thirds of the image height. There are some older and fainter contrails in the background as well, making a faint cross.

Contrail - don’t know what it is, but I like this image.

📺 Watched the last episode of Ted Lasso yesterday - not realising that it was the Final episode. I liked the ending, but it also made me a bit sad. Would love to see more in this universe.

A dream is a dream, with random signals creating unique patterns of activated neurons in our brain. We search for sense and order in patterns. Known patterns help us feel safe and manage life.

A photo of my Apple watch showing the pool swimming workout results from today. Terya St reads: Pool swim 750min 20:12 minutes.

New personal pool swimming record (25m lane): 750m (30 lanes) in 20:12 minutes. Around 50% more than my regular amount.

I’m so happy with espanso just today again noticed how much time it saves - when you have set it up. I use it a lot when I write about people my surroundings.

For example I can write : pm&m and it gets replaced with M&M ([[persons/marc-example|👤 Marc Example]] & [[persons/matilda-example|👤 Matilda Example]]).

It is “nice” when you find out that the temporary timetable for the kitchen renovation is the real one – and it starts next week OO.

A good post about what to do as a regular developer in a project. But the content is important no matter what you exact role is.

So here’s the opportunity that you have as a bottom-of-the-pile developer: making connections!!!
But if you come to me with a request rather than a defined task, I say that a senior digs in; asks questions; finds out more; challenges assumptions; takes steps back to look at the broader picture; and does some “systems thinking”, before knuckling down.

I usually does not take long to destroy any hope of getting it done for the release they want it :-) But it is important to have persons knowing the whole system and knowing what I going everywhere. Especially when the team is split over multiple (external) persons.
