@MitchW we had a landslide in Blatten this week and this image was drawn as my reaction to it – around 300 houses got destroyed – luckily the village was evacuated before. Right now they are only missing one person.

I’m now writing notes in Obsidian without a descriptive name and without a heading. Not yet sure if this will be a good idea.

@V_ im interested to hear how it works for you. I know i sometimes get caught on the title but often the title helps me. I believe I’m more of a top down thinker so it’s probably easier for me to

@ChrisJWilson right now it feels strange and also like I’m doing something wrong. But it is also freeing, not thinking about a title, especially for very short notes. I often have notes where the title would be all that is in there and it causes a lot of friction thinking about how to restate what the title already said just to have a body.

This is a good post. And Apple embracing these points would be nice!

Start by changing App Review from a Kafkaesque nightmare to a sane, functioning, supportive process in which Apple and developers work together to successfully release software. That means timely, two-way communication with recognizably human entities at Apple
Next, create a public bug tracker (with an option for developers to keep some information or entire bug reports private to ensure proprietary information is not exposed). Develop Apple’s own software “in the open” as much as possible. Publish average response times and fix times for bugs, and maintain those numbers at levels that satisfy developers
Though it might not be obvious to people who have never worked in the software industry, this is actually a leadership issue. Striking the correct balance between creating new features and ensuring that existing features work correctly (and gradually improve) requires leadership dedicated to this strategy.

I have a strange issue with a MongoDB query today. It works fast in the compass app. But is slow when executed in my GraphQL datafetcher. And by slow I mean 0.5s vs > 80s. The query explain look the same for both. And adding a limit does not change the issue.

Britain did not do so well at the ESC yesterday, but I still liked that song the best. There where some other song which I liked: the French - loved the song and the visuals with the sand glass. And the Italian entry. Otherwise I was not so sure what was going on.

@Omrrc I think I’ve read most of the books. And was also a bit nervous. But I think that was a good first two episodes. And Sanctuary Moon looks a lot like I imagine it :-)

@V_ I enjoyed the first two episodes and I’m looking forward (cautiously) to the next ones. Sanctuary Moon was fun but I missed the drones Murderbot always had whizzing around in the books.

@ZeroOne I’ve seen it on the micro.blog timeline – unfortunately I can’t remember by whom (I forgotten to write it down at the time). And now I just realized that this is not your question :-D The book was sobering to read. It elicited the whole gamut of feelings from unbelieving to angry.

I fear that my favourite tea is no longer produced. Ordered the left on from Amazon – got delivered the right one. The right one is drinkable but it is not what I want and love :-(. And it is certainly not the same product.
