Review of Maybe You Should Talk to Someone: A Therapist, HER Therapist, and Our Lives Revealed

The other day I finished reading Maybe You Should Talk to Someone: A Therapist, HER Therapist, and Our Lives Revealed by Lori Gottlieb.πŸ“š I’ve noticed this book due to a mention on micro.blog and checked it out as it sounded interesting.

I enjoyed reading about the different patient cases and how the problems get solved. In between the patient session, she tells about her problems and how she is addressing them. And how therapy works generally. It is good to see that the therapist is also only human and needs to work as hard on her problems – or perhaps harder due to her profession – on getting her own life in order.

I liked that this book provides a view of what’s happening behind a therapist’s door, as it is still so, that we never think about going into therapy when we are not feeling well. But we never think twice about going to a doctor when we have some pain on a body part.
