Review of The Left Hand of Darkness (Hainish Cycle)

I just finished reading The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin.๐Ÿ“š I stumbled over this series on, I think, and as I needed something new to read, I started it.

It is fascinating how Ms. Le Guin can write Science Fiction without ever needing to invent or explain technology. This book has Aliens and Spacecraft, but most of the book, the two main protagonists are walking though the big open world.

Just asking the right question about how a society without clear sexes would work and what it would mean for the humans creates enough story and setting to write a book, which shows how some of the things work in our society where we have sexes.

The book needs some work to start as you get thrown into a new world with a completely different time and date system without many explanations at the beginning. But it is well worth the investment โ€“ I loved every page of this book.
