Review of Glamour in Glass (Glamourist Histories Series Book 2)

I finished reading Glamour in Glass (Glamourist Histories Series Book 2) by Mary Robinette Kowal.📚

Vincent and Jane are married and work now together as Glamourists. After a successful commission by the prince regent, they start a honeymoon to Belgium. As the English defeated Napoleon, it is deemed safe again to travel there. But soon after arriving, there are signs that it could not be as safe as thought.

The book’s tone has changed; this issue is a lot more adventure-driven, and Jane can finally be herself. The author fulfilled the hopes I had for the second book! Now the text reads like a mixture of master pupil story and a thriller.

I would have loved it if the book’s research part had been more prominent, as I think this plotline has quite some potential. Now, after this book, I’m certainly hooked on the story and cannot wait to read the next issue.
