I hate cookie banners

Each time when I visit a new homepage, I’m presented with such an abomination

: Cookie banner

I understand why this information is essential for the consumer. But why are the webpages allowed to make such unusable interfaces for it? This is entirely against the original intention of the law.

Now the game is how many dark patterns can I use that the user just accepts the defaults because he does not want to spend the time to find out which side of the toggle buttons is now the deactivated state.

I would love if these banners would just be required to contain a big button containing the text “Only necessary and go away, please.”
