My thoughts on the wheel of time show after the first three episodes
I think the third episode was the turning point for me. It slowed way down and started to tell a story. What bugged me the most in the first two episodes was that so much was happening. And the actors needed to dump so much deposition onto the viewer that I was pretty stressed.
I’m not sure how much my inner nerd was distracting me when I constantly searched for differences in the source material. I knew going into the show that it would be different. But still, in the first two episodes, I was blocked by the differences. And this did not allow me to enjoy them.
I like Moraine and Lan. I still need to grow on the other characters. Although it is not the acting quality, I struggle with. It is the changes added to the characters. Especially Mats character changes are bothering me right now.
After waiting more than two years for the release, I’m glad that the show has finally arrived. And there is so much to like: Winters night, the costumes, and some lovely foreshadowing bits already.
And it looks like Rand Land does have a vast amount of fancy caves everywhere :-D
