The door
📝 The door at the end of the corridor has been calling me since I started working at this office. Nobody is ever going through this door. And nobody knows where it leads. I seem to be the only one caring about this door.
Today is the day when I will find out where it leads. I look around once more. Feeling like I’m about to do something forbidden. I take a heart and step up to it.
The door is average-looking and plain. Nothing is there marking it as special, but I still think it is a unique door.
I have my lockpicking set with me - in case the door is locked. Nothing stands between me and the secret behind the door.
I press down on the handle and pull.
The door opens slowly – it is not locked. The door feels heavy, a loth weightier as it should be! Opening it slowly, it reveals an empty windowless room. Stale air greets me. And upon a closer look, I see that there is a bucket and a broom in one corner. The room is filled with a strange soft light, although no light fixtures are visible.
Taking a slow step into the room, I feel disappointment rising. I expected more than a windowless room with a broom. Taking a closer look at the bucket. Hoping against hope that I find something more. I’m not sure what drives me to go into the room. As it does not make sense to expect more.
The door closes with a soft thud. I turn around, and there is nothing where the door should be. The room just extends further. My last thought before I faint is: How do I get back?
