Thoughts on issue 1 and two of Lt. Reilly

My thoughts about the first two issues of Lt. Reilly 2321: (Lt. Reilly book #1) and Lt. Reilly and the Black Bird Offensive by Matthew Duncan.📚

I’ve enjoyed reading the first issue of this series but was not happy with the second book.

The first book is an excellent private eye story in space. I liked the setup and how the character solved the mystery—going into the second issue, I expected more along the same row.

In book two, the author changed the style of the story quite much and started having a lot of action on screen, giving me a feeling that I was not in the story. I also noticed a lot of universe explanations. Mainly explanation of how the technology works. And it was bothering me, which is surprising as usually, I like this sort of thing, but in this book, it was taking me out of the story.
