Thoughts on Outland by Dennis E. Taylor
I finished reading Outland by Dennis E. Taylor.๐
A group of young students finds a way to access parallel earth while doing some science experiments. They start exploring it and trying to earn some money. When a yellow stone erupts and starts to cover north America in ash, the question is, now keep the technology secret or go public and start saving as many people as possible?
The book is similar to Wildside by Steven Gould. The start is relatively identical, but they then diverge and go into more or less opposite sides. I like the scenario of a young group finding a portal (or the technology) to build one.
I like that this book took a different turn with the end-of-the-world scenario. It was a refreshing twist to read. I could not stop reading, and I’m still thinking about the book now. I would love to read more from this universe.
