Additional Impressions from Fantasy Basel

Some additional impressions from our day at Fantasy Basel

I loved our day there. We could immerse ourselves back into the scene and culture. And I also enjoyed that it was bigger and not only Anime Managa related. It was also fun seeing some of my old colleagues again.

I could not keep my con organizer hat at home. And I started analyzing what the organizers could do better. I had a lot of trouble with orientation as the location was so big. They should install a lot more signs. And add a floor map on each staircase. It would help with orientation.

But one thing I note is how wide the corridors were between the exhibition stands. I had never attended a convention with so much space to walk.

The trolley from Harry Potter is placed against a pillar, with me holding it.

I needed to try to get through the pillar.

A TIE fighter replica from Star Wars. Around 5 or 6 meters high.
Photo of an Macintosh SE/30. Showing the Finder.

They had a retro computer nook with multiple old Macintosh. My daughter and I spent some time at the SE/30. I would have loved to have some more time there. But we were pretty beaten at that point and on our way home.

A cosplay of a wolf with fur and a realistic looking animal head.

An incredible cosplay. I have no idea which series it is. But I like these full-body cosplays.

Part of the Diagon Alley exhibit from Harry Potter.
