Stuck 📝

The cat was on the roof when I heard it meowing. After hearing it for two days, I needed to investigate.

The cat was not visible from the ground. Only when I climbed a nearby tree, I saw a tiny kitten – all grey with white ears – looking at me and uttering a single miaow. Without thinking much, I climbed onto the branch hanging over the rooftop. Jumping the last part to land on the roof with a loud thumb.

The kitten runs to the other side of the roof. “Don’t fear,” I whispered to it. “I will save you!” I crouched and shuffled toward the kitten. “I won’t hurt you.” “Meow,” the kitten said and carefully walked toward me. I held out my hand so it could sniff it and began to pet it.

Having soothed the kitten, I looked at how we will get down from the roof. “Oh dear,” I told the kitten, “now we are both stuck.” We could not get back the way I came, and the roof was too high to jump down. Ultimately, I bit the bullet and called the fire brigade to save us both.
