The Greenhouse 📝
“You want another cup of tea,” I ask my guest. “No thanks, I’m good – where did you find all these trees? I’ve never seen any of them!” She points to the group of firs next to the small patio area where we sit beneath plants nearly extinct in the wilderness. “A lot of luck and dedication,” I reply to her.
“I had some gardeners in my family and inherited some seed stashes.” She sips her tea – home-grown in another corner of the greenhouse.
“I appreciate your invitation – you truly have created an oasis, and it is worth every dollar of the admission price.” “I hope you can enjoy your time in the green oasis.” “The energy consumption must be immense to cool this all down?” She asks. “It is not as bad as it looks. The glass panels filter most of the UV and Infrared waves from the sun. The climate control gets the power from the sun – so in a way, it is still the sun providing for the plants, although with some technical interventions to cool the greenhouse down,” I explain.
“Ring the bell if you need anything,” I say while standing up. “It is time for me to go back to work. Feel free to wander around and inhale the freshly filtered air and smells of a forest.”
