I watched Daniel Greene’s three-hour-long video about the TV show Fringe. It triggered a lot of memories again. My wife and I watched this show when we were younger and still living in our first flat.

And Wow, is this show amazing – and it does hold up quite well from today’s viewpoint: multiple storylines and ongoing plots.

I’m surprised by how dark the storylines are – I don’t remember seeing the behavior of Walden Bishop as horrendous as it was. When I watched the series, I never reflected on his behavior and what his research meant for the participants, who did not consent to it and frankly would be unable to give informed consent.

One of the points I liked about this show was that it reminded me a lot of Alias (2001), which is next to Heroes (2006), also one of the earliest I remember of Science Fiction shows done with an overarching plot.

@V_ I haven’t seen this but I’m going to track it down. I really liked Fringe when it aired.
