I’m back in Jira. Today’s task was creating user stories for the new project.
Comments
@jabel I’m going to assume that “Jira!” is something accountants cry out when they’re very happy. Please don’t tell me otherwise.

@jabel reading this makes me happy. That sounds like a good project for the devs! Most projects I was on the business side was not interested in writing user stories or working with Jira. I was lucky yesterday that I had the stories already written out and just needed to copy past them into Jira.

@dwalbert I'm not sure about accountants, but Devs sometimes use that when they despair ;-)

@V_ It’s also a Thai restaurant in Thailand.
by odd on
@odd :-D the perfect location for a Jira user group meeting.
by V_ on
@V_ I hear it’s a great tool for that! ???? ????

@V_ It’s been a lot of work but it’s going well. I told the project owner one day that he had attended so many meetings with accountants in the past few months that he could be one himself. He replied that he had finally gained enough confidence to reconcile his bank account. ????

@dwalbert Ha!

@dwalbert Certainly nobody except accountants cries out “Jira!” when they’re happy.

@odd It also means cumin in Hindi although with two 'e's @V_
by pratik on
@pratik «Jeera»? Cumin in Norwegian is called «spisskummen» or sometimes «spisskum» or «spisskarve». Earlier it was written as «spisskummin».
by odd on
@odd Yup, that's right.

@pratik Randomly poking nose: I don’t remember what drama I was watching recently but I remember wondering whether there were (and being surprised that there was) Hindu nationalism. I’d have thought you’d need a solo god to rally behind.
by Moondeer on
@Moondeer Oh no! Hindu nationalism has been around as long as the religion. I mean, what good is your religion if you don't tell people of other religions that yours is better. Yup, there's plenty of gods but when it comes down to hating Muslims, they all seeem to find one god to rally around. In fact, this is happening in two days.

@V_ Jira! User stories! You’ve just summarized so much of my life for the past six months. We’re rebuilding our endowment reporting system and, as an accountant, I never imagined that I’d have to use Jira this much.
