I’m surprised to learn that the Shinkansen also has fast and slow trains (trains stopping at every train station) — for it to be generally thought about as an express rail line.
Electrical squid 🦑
I find this box for your bagpack a good idea. I’ve seen it in multiple restaurants here in Japan. And would wish we had them as well at home.
Tried the Yakisoba restaurant next to our hotel today. Tasty!
Today’s tree 🌳
Not sure what I was thinking but I read “Flat Bread” instead of “Fat Spread”. My daughter was not happy that she got 300g of margarine for breakfast :-)
Found a cool old-school paper shop. And bought some nice specialty paper :-).
Was in a Cat cafe for the first time today. Not sure what I think about the experience. It certainly was not crowded and the cats hat spaces to get out of Patreon reach. But it sure felt like they did not want much interaction with you. Only when you had treats of course.
Looks like I’m nearly over my jetlag now. Only around one hour away from my regular waketime without an alarm now.
Bark & Moss
Tried Kinomo wearing today. I liked the way the clothing felt. But was not sure if I fitted into them and weather I should do it.
Had one of the best Bolognese today (”“Pappardelle” Kyoto wagyu bolognese & porcini”), at Curd. And I know I’m in Japan and eat Italian oO.
Bird in the city
Tea house: the perfect place to take a break from the weather. It was cold yesterday.
Entrance
Motorikyu Nijō Castle
We found a Kuriko experience while walking around the hotel neighborhood.
:-)
Death and Life
I love the smell of Japanese curry in the morning. I could get used to eating it every day.
Love the roots
Itsukushima. A nice day trip. Would have loved to stay the night. Need to keep it in mind for a possible next time here :-).
At the bank of Motoyasu River.
TIL: trees survive atomic blasts.
Our second cherry tree.
Osaka Castle
Yep, I too need a picture about the Japanese toilet situation :-)
First day in Osaka. Still feeling the jet lag right now. But we had some food and explored the area a bit. Loved how this canal looked.
@V_ That's a very simple but effective idea. How sensible!
