It is that time of the year again ;-). I had some trouble starting the movie (it was a bit cheesy), but I finished it and liked it in the end. The characters were a bit flat. The child was way too mature for the age she was supposed to be.

I like that it had a unique hook with the two main casts – a twist I have not seen yet. And makes the movie remarkable.

Whitney Alder owns interior design firm Marietta Designs, which she runs with her friend Andi in the small town of Marietta, Montana. Whitney is designing Santa’s float for the annual Marietta Christmas Parade when a potential job opportunity comes her way: the full redesign of a landmark home by Christmas Eve.

Found this while I was watching TMDB: Trying 2020 and I like the theme both of these works have.

When Pete and Ellie decide to start a family, they stumble into the world of foster care adoption. They hope to take in one small child but when they meet three siblings, including a rebellious 15 year old girl, they find themselves speeding from zero to three kids overnight.

Instant Family (via Netflix).

This movie was hard to watch but very interesting. It is so sad how the state can destroy a family under the guise of protecting the children. I noted that it happened in an area where child protection services were privatized. I never heard of something like this, but it sounds like a recipe for disaster.

When Jack and Beata Kowalski are wrongfully accused of child abuse after their 10-year-old daughter Maya visits the ER, a nightmare unfolds.

Take Care of Maya (via Netflix).

I started watching 🎥 The Takeover. A dutch movie Netflix recommended to me. It was hard to understand everything, especially as I also used the dutch dub and subtitles. It reminds me of the “Girl with the dragon tattoo.”

I watched Im Westen nichts Neues on Netflix yesterday. The film was strange but not bad. It is a sad story – not surprised when you think about the topic. And the ending was as expected – everybody dies. But I noticed that it is a very different style of movie. There is not much dialog, and when they talk, it is mundane and does not explain much. They are just there and are dying one way or another.

I hate it when Netflix decides to remember my view state – and also when it constantly shows me movies I’ve already seen again. I would love an option to disable this behavior entirely. And the same for its advertisements for games whiteout advertisements.

I finished watching For Life on Netflix this week. I loved the first season. Not so much the second season. I’m not sure why this is the case. I think it is because I watched the first season as fiction, and the second brings it right back to real life.

Yesterday I watched a very good movie on Netflix Mixtape. I did not expect very much from it but I liked the movie a lot. It is quite slow, but hits all the right spots. 🍿

I’ve watched Metal Lords. I did not expect too much from the movie, but it was better than I would have expected. I loved how the characters interacted with each other. And the message the film sends is quite positive. And for once, the main character was not stupid in his love triangle situation and did the right thing!

Watched this movie yesterday, I liked it very much. At times a bit over the top but in the sum a very likeable movie. And as I like the music of the Boss did certainly help as well ;-)

After discovering the music of Bruce Springsteen, a Pakistani British teenager begins to understand his identity, his culture and the world at large.
